Our Agricultural Robotics team has officially opened the FNQ Rotary Field Days exhibit in Mareeba – one of Australia’s largest agricultural events in the north. We’re part of the action, connecting with growers, researchers, and innovators who are shaping the future of farming in tropical Australia.
You’ll find us located in the Hort Innovation area, right next to the Ag & Innovation Farm Tour Meeting Point. We’re here to showcase two of our core technologies built specifically for mango producers:
The Mango Orchard Imager
Our mobile machine vision system, the Orion Orchard Imager, is designed to map tree crops with precision. It captures high-resolution, geolocated imagery of mango trees while moving through the orchard, identifying fruit load for foercast.
FruitMaps
This grower-friendly data platform takes information collected either by the Imager or from manual data entry. FruitMaps transforms this input into actionable orchard insights. With FruitMaps, users can visualise forecast data, track trends, compare block performance, and support your harvest and management decisions.
At Agricultural Robotics, grower engagement is at the core of how we design and develop technology. We believe that agtech only delivers real value when it’s shaped by the needs and feedback of the people who use it every day. That’s why we prioritise early and frequent collaboration with growers, particularly in the mango sector — one of Australia’s most important and unique horticultural industries.
The mango industry presents a complex and seasonal production challenge: long crop cycles, regional climate variability, and the critical importance of accurate forecasting. These conditions create an ideal testing ground for data-driven solutions like ours.
By working side-by-side with growers, we’ve learned what truly matters in the field:
